Why a floor without a plinth?
A question that we see a lot with Solza.nl is why a plinth is actually necessary and whether it is also possible to lay floors without using a plinth. Unfortunately, these questions are not easy to answer with a yes or no. It depends on the specific type of floor you want to install. So do you want to lay a floor without a plinth? Then you have to take this into account when choosing the floor.
Laying PVC floor without plinth
Is laying a floor without a plinth really important to you? Then we recommend that you install a PVC floor without plinth. However, this must be a slab PVC floor, also known as dryback PVC. These floors are glued to a beautiful leveled surface and will therefore need little space for possible operation. Because these floorboards can no longer move, it is possible to lay them relatively tightly against the walls and so you can often finish the transition between PVC floors and the wall nicely with sealant. By sealing the floor, you also make the floor nicely waterproof. For sealing such floors, we recommend the use of a good acrylic sealant. Click PVC floors generally have space between the floor itself and the wall and therefore it is desirable to bridge this space with a beautiful matching plinth.
Tip: We recommend outsourcing the sealant of the floor, skirting boards, window frames and similar to a painter. Kitten is really a profession.

Laminate without plinth
Are you going to use a beautiful laminate floor in your home, at office or perhaps as a shop floor and would you prefer to do this without using a plinth? Then we have to disappoint you, unfortunately. Because laminate works, this type of flooring needs space between the floor itself and the walls to be able to move (shrink and expand). So you prefer to bridge and get rid of this space and you do this with a matching plinth. For laminate you can choose from, for example, matching adhesive skirting boards or a beautiful high plinth. It does not matter which type of laminate you choose, this applies to all types of laminate.
